Steve, Joe and I are meeting at Joe's flat, aka Manbearpig Studios, in Reigate every Wednesday evening where we eat fish and chips, talk about girls, and record the drums for the new album. Our great friend and Forest and the Fire sticksman Ryan Say came along to the recording of one track and contributed some additional rhythms, and as Christmas approaches we are still just about on target for a Spring release. Has been a real privilege recording with Steve and Joe and I have learned so much from both.
We are recording the video for the first single, "Lafayette Bloomed Violet", in January with Ryan. He has devised a splendid concept and by coincidence his Forest and the Fire bandmate Bracken is designing the cover art for the album.
Next live dates will likely be around or just after the release of the record.
I've started a new side-project in the downtime between the Android recording sessions to stop me getting fidgety and it's had some plays on XFM and BBC 6 Music.
I am as excited as a little boy with a freshly baked iced bun about 2011.
